Snow Sculpture
In 2006 I was asked by my friend Richard Seeley to design a sculpture for USA-Team Minnesota for the international snow sculpture competition in Colorado.
Though I knew very little about snow sculpture, and had never worked in this strange new material, I was intrigued with the idea of creating a large white crystalline piece in one week (that might take months or years in any other medium)... and that would melt away a few weeks later.
I signed on to join forces with Rich (a noted wildlife photographer), his wife Beth Hassinger Seeley (a corporate organizer), the mathematician and programmer/inventor Dan Schwalbe, and well-known mathematician/professor Stan Wagon (experienced team captain).
